Ballet

BABY, MELODY MOVEMENT,
PRE PRIMARY AND PRIMARY

Lilac leotard with attached skirt. Soft ballet shoes with elastic* & Short ballet socks – pink or colour to match skin tone (shoes and socks should be a similar colour).  Lilac cross-over cardigan (optional).

GRADE 1 AND 2

Lavender sleeveless polyester-cotton or Meryl RAD leotard with matching elasticated belt. Pink soft ballet shoes with elastic* & Short pink ballet socks – pink or colour to match skin tone (shoes and socks should be a similar colour). Lavender cross-over cardigan (optional). Black character shoes with low heel. Black circular character skirt with coordinating ribbons. Grade I only – Syllabus Ribbon on a Stick.  ‘Ondine’ hoodie (optional)

GRADE 3

Lavender sleeveless polyester-cotton or Meryl RAD leotard with matching elasticated belt.  Soft ballet shoes with elastic* & Seamless ballet tights – pink or colour to match skin tone (shoes and tights should be a similar colour).  Lavender cross-over cardigan (optional).  Black character shoes with cuban heel.   Black circular character skirt with own choice of ribbons.   Grade 3 syllabus headdress.   ‘Ondine’ hoodie  (optional).

GRADE 4 AND 5

Violet Roch Valley leotard (2 styles).  Soft ballet shoes (leather, canvas or satin*) with elastic & Seamless pink convertible ballet tights – pink or colour to match skin tone (shoes and tights should be a similar colour).  Black crossover cardigan (optional).  Black character shoes with cuban heel.   Black circular character skirt with own choice of ribbons.   Pointe shoes (Grade 5 only) for Variation class.   ‘Ondine’ hoodie (optional)

GRADE 6, 7 and 8

Capezio burgundy cotton lycra leotard (choice of styles 90108, 96320, 9630, BraTek).  Soft ballet shoes* with ribbons (elastic is permitted for class but not for the exam) & Seamless, convertible ballet tights – pink or colour to match skin tone (shoes and tights should be a similar colour).   Black character shoes with cuban heel.  Black circular character skirt with own choice of ribbons.  Pointe shoes for pointe work class.  ‘Ondine’ hoodie  (optional). Any appropriate ballet leotard of the dancers choice may be worn for class with wrap skirt if desired.

BOYS’ UNIFORM – BABY, MELODY MOVEMENT, PRE-PRIMARY, PRIMARY

White T Shirt, Navy Shorts.  Short white ballet socks and white ballet shoes.

BOYS’ UNIFORM – GRADE 1 TO 5

White short-sleeved leotard.   Navy shorts (navy stirrup tights may be worn instead of shorts).  Short white ballet socks.  White ballet shoes. Black Character Shoes.

INTERMEDIATE FOUNDATION

Black or Royal Blue sleeveless Royal Academy of Dance Freed Vocational exam leotard (Alice, Jane or Bethany).   Soft ballet shoes with ribbons & Seamless convertible ballet tights – pink or colour to match skin tone.    Pointe shoes with ribbons. (Shoes and tights should be a similar colour)

INTERMEDIATE AND ADVANCED FOUNDATION

Black or Royal Blue sleeveless Royal Academy of Dance Freed Vocational exam leotard (Alice, Jane or Bethany).   Soft pointe shoes with ribbons & Seamless convertible ballet tights.    Pointe shoes with ribbons – Pink or colour to match skin tone (shoes and socks should be a similar colour)

Modern and Tap

PRE-PRIMARY UP TO AND INCLUDING GRADE 4

Starburst-sleeveless-leotard, available from Dancers Boutique. To be worn with black shorts or black leggings. White ankle socks. Black tap shoes.

GRADE 5 UPWARDS

Students may wear a suitable leotard of their own choice with black leggings or black shorts. £5 will be charged for rental of exam leotard. Black tap shoes. Black Trainer liner socks.

STREET DANCE

Dark coloured jogging bottoms or leggings.  T shirt – any colour.  Dance sneakers.  Ondine Academy Hoodie (optional).   Hair tied back off face.  No jewellery.

ACRO DANCE

Any leotard suitable for gymnastics or dance can be worn. With shorts or leggings if you choose to.

HAIR

Hair should be styled neatly into a bun for ballet classes – this is compulsory from Grade 3 upwards, and recommended for all other ballet classes. If the hair is not long enough for a bun, please do your best to get it off of the face and neck.

For all other dance disciplines, hair should be securely and neatly tied back off of the face.

Second-hand sale

It is only possible to purchase items from our second-hand boxes on a given ‘sale’ date at the beginning of term. The next ‘sale’ will be TBC at Stoke Poges Village Centre in the Harding Room. Second-hand uniform will not be available at any other times. These sales rely on donated items.

*Satin ballet shoes are compulsory for all ballet examinations. Primary to Grade 5 need elastics and Grade 6 and above and Vocational levels need ribbons. A chiffon skirt will need to be hired for the exam for Grades 6, 7, and 8, at a cost of £5.
